2009 Highlights

January 18, 2009 – In time for our 2nd anniversary, we scheduled Juliana’s christening at Sta. Ursula church in Binangonan. Here are the list of Juliana’s godparents:

1.       Ana Miren Celones         1. Tomas Dimalanta
   2.       Bingle Santos             2. Augusto David
   3.       Charmaine Cruz            3. Voltaire Celones
   4.       Mae Canlas                4. Mico Dimalanta
   5.       Ovita David               5. Fermin Rodriguez
   6.       Jo Ann Esguerra           6. Lito Dimalanta

Reception is at Mama Lola and Papa Lolo’s house at Tatala. I still kept my room there so every visit at Binangonan, we stay at that room.

It was the first time that most of July’s relatives have seen Juliana. And it was also the day that Ate Cel who will be her primary caregiver has held her.

February 2009 – I resumed my consultancy work and I just leave Juliana with Ate Cel once a week. With the baby now with us plus yaya and with July working full-time plus just consultancy income from me, there were really days when we have to stretch ourselves money-wise. I remember a time where we have to delay our payment on our rent as we have no funds yet.

June 2009 – It was back to regular work for me. It was very tiring though as I have to drive everyday, Monday to Saturday from Pasig City to Caloocan. Additional effort if Wednesdays because of coding. Sanayan lang talaga and buti na lang hindi everyday yung traffic that I have to endure as I take EDSA in the morning (to avoid passing through Ateneo) and then in the evening, take Katipunan naman. I remember passing through heavy flood at Katipunan one night but I have no choice but to brave it through. Lakasan lang talaga ng loob.

August 2009 – It was Juliana’s first plane ride. Seven of us (Mama Lola, Papa Lolo, Miren, July and I, Ate Cel and Juliana) flew to Boracay via Kalibo. Sale kasi ang Zest Air. Our hotel is at Boracay Regency Resort and because it was raining (may bagyo pa nun) when we went there, we cannot take the regular ferries going to the island so nagjet-ski kami lahat... sosyal noh? It was buffet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner kaya super busog kami everyday while on vacation. Hindi nga lang kami nakapag-beach because of the high tide.

September 2009 – My first working trip abroad na nanay na ako, and a breastfeeding mom pa ha. I arrived at the US with gorged breast and I have to pump and throw away the breast milk. Sayang kasi I cant store it naman dahil the itinerary is Los Angeles, Minnesotta, Gibson City, Chicago, New Jersey, New York then back to Los Angeles pa. I was at Chicago (with the sunshine and fair weather) when Ondoy happened and I remember trying to call everybody at home and seeing at the internet the floods at Marikina. Good thing I was able to talk to July (may signal ang sun) and he just said that Juliana and the rest of those who are staying at our apartment were at the Mama Sita office because baha na ang Jenny’s Avenue hanggang bewang. Actually, when I returned home that first week of October, baha pa rin ang Jenny’s. Starting that day, everytime may malakas na bagyong parating, nagreready na kami umuwi ng binangonan.

November 2009 – Nathan was born and I trooped to Bocaue, Bulacan to visit him and Angel at the hospital during my lunch break at work. Buti na lang andyan si Butete so he was able to see his first-born nung ipinanganak.

December 2009 – Juliana’s first birthday and the start of our love-affair at Jollibee Greenmeadows! It was a great day, with lots of love and gifts from family and friends!

Hello

Hello digital world!

I started trying to do blog posts way back in 2008 but I did not published or posted anything as things happened so fast. Hopefully, I will be able to catch up.

Let's start with a summary:

January 19, 2008 -- the day I made a vow with July in front of God, my family, relatives and friends. We were already on our 6th year of being bf/gf and it's really time to tie the knot.

Church - Sta. Rita de Cascia Parish at Philam Homes, Quezon City
 Reception - Philam Homes Clubhouse
 Honeymoon - Boracay

April 2008 -- it was the month we knew we will soon be parents. I remember that morning so well - I requested July to buy the pregnancy kit the night before and I took the test that morning. Needless to say, we were speechless the first few minutes.

August 2008 -- time to settle now at Pasig when I got retrenched from my job. It was a tough time but thankfully, it was also the time when I felt the support of my husband and family. This was also the period when I knew who my friends really are.

December 10, 2008 (Wednesday) -- We welcomed Juliana Marie in this world at 12:23pm. I gave birth via normal delivery Delgado Hospital at QC and we were there at around 8am. I remember the day so well because coding yung lumang Vios nun but I told my father who is driving at that time that if hinarang tayo ng MMDA, sisigawan ko lang sya. My OBgyne is Dra. Clarisa Salazar who I met when I was still renting an apartment sa Novaliches.

* What I remembered when I was in labor is that I really pushed hard and right after birth I was asleep na. I did not remember hearing Juliana's cry as feeling ko I was really, really tired. When i woke up at the recovery room, my first question to the nurse is where is my daughter and sabi nga nya nasa nursery and that I will see her once I have a room. Actually, nauna pa syang makita nina mama, papa & july kesa sa akin...:-)

After 2 days at the hospital, we went home at our Pasig apartment. It was a breeze in the beginning except for the pagpaligo part coz babies are so delicate! I breastfeed the baby, July cooks - it is just me and Juliana at the house. Unfortunately, after a few days, I got very high fever and I have no choice but to go home to Binangonan at my lola's place so that someone can take care of me. With the help of Ate Sally, Ate Lerie and si Manang manghihilot, I am back in the groove after a few weeks.
